This is gonna sound like making excuses but taking dance pictures is hard. The lighting is usually not that great, and the advanced dancers move so fast it's hard to predict where they are going to go. Since my 50mm 1:2 lens, which is good for low lighting, was only a manual focus that made things even more difficult.
